Fradswell Village Hall

Our vision:

'A vibrant community hub at the heart of Fradswell, providing local opportunities to meet, socialise, learn, share & shop,

A model for rural community engagement'

Our values:

Localness

We want to provide opportunities, facilities and services within the community to reduce isolation and the need to travel.

Sustainability

Our community has been here for generations. In all we do we strive to ensure it is here for generations to come.

Inclusiveness

We want to engage every part of our community, recognising the threat of rural isolation, especially being aware of the need to involve the young and the elderly.

Enabling

We aim to provide opportunities that truly enable people, through teaching new skills and encouraging enterprise

Tradition

Whatever we seek to do in the future we should always be proud of and embrace our tradition

Welcome to

Fradswell Village website

We hope you're able to visit us in our community hub, very soon!

An update from Fradswell Community Hub Trustees:

What a difficult year 2020 has been for everybody. It seems impossible that a year ago the village hall was the venue for so many great events, and we were preparing to celebrate Christmas together.

The village hall remains closed in line with government guidelines, and because our first priority is to ensure everyone stays safe. We will continue to review the situation and cannot wait until the time in 2021 that welcome you back!

Fradswell Community SOS

As we enter the second lockdown your community volunteer team has reformed and has discussed what support may be needed.  This lockdown is a little different to last time- it is shorter (at the moment!), shielding is not mandatory and support bubbles are allowed for people living on their own, and therefore we agreed our involvement this time should be more low key.

It remains a difficult and challenging time, however, and we just wanted to reassure you and your neighbours that we are here if you want anything- shopping done, medication collected or just a friendly voice to chat to.

Irene Phillips has sourced a supply of free food  (from County Stores Supermarket) to be placed in the summer house at the village hall weekly, on Friday afternoons. Please just come along and help yourself…it’s there to be taken! Tell your neighbours too! Keep an eye on the community hub Facebook group or give Irene a call (number below)

A message from Caroline at Milwich Post Office:

"It’s still business as usual at the Post Office apart from ….. I have had a hand sanitiser dispenser station installed just inside the door for everybody to use. It’s looking brilliant, – I even managed to get it made in Post Office colours. As you can gather I’m very excited about it and I hope everyone find it easy to use. It is just inside the first door, you simply place a hand under the tap and the sensor will automatically dispense the correct amount, so leave your hand underneath until it stops!

Take care & stay safe,  Caroline"
